Visit Humboldt Redwoods State Parks     Located along the scenic Avenue of the Giants, Humboldt Redwoods State Park encompasses 52,000 acres, including over 17,000 acres of ancient old-growth coast redwood forest.

Visit our beautiful wildlife refuge.     Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Refuge is an important staging area (especially spring) for the Pacific black brant and other migratory waterfowl. -- Migration staging area and wintering area for shorebirds.

A sense of historical identity.     The Eureka Heritage Society provides leadership, education, and advocacy to preserve and enhance Eureka's irreplaceable historic structures and neighborhoods so as to ensure a legacy for future generations.

Arcata March and Wildlife Sanctuary     Arcata constructed the Arcata Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary in 1981 and incorporated wastewater treatment in 1986. The Arcata Marsh is an example of a community’s involvement in environmental politics, innovative uses of land, and applications of appropriate technology in a small urban community.
